The 2014 World’s Longest Lunch, set at Eastern Beach, showcased the region’s finest chefs and produce throughout the four-course dining experience under a beautifully themed marquee styled by IGBY Productions
Water was the theme for this event and of course the Geelong waterfront provided the ideal backdrop especially in the glorious weather conditions.
As the IGBY mind is always ticking, water isn’t just literally water… think watercolours! Using this adaptation of the theme, our event stylists set out to create unique, colourful and fresh styling for this year’s longest lunch.
Crisp white linen draped along the entire length of the tables, allowed the contrast of the soft pastel watercolours to pop.
Bessa blocks painted in pastel watercolours filled with fresh flowers ran down the centre of the tables and matched the hand dyed linen napkins, also the assortment of mix and match chairs. All of which has a slight industrial undertone with various materials such as concrete, wood and metal used throughout. Down the centre of the marquee hung colourful drip coloured paper lanterns, with flowers and greenery cascading from inside.
As well as looking pretty as a picture, the event was a huge success raising over $51,000 for the Geelong Hospital’s latest project, the redevelopment of the Special Care Nursery. A Special event that IGBY were thrilled to be involved in.
